I successfully defended my Masters thesis “The interpretations of human-like figures featured in rock carvings from Bohuslän, Dalsland, and Østfold”, supervised by prof. dr hab. Danuta Minta-Tworzowska.
*Magister degree is equivalent to an integrated undergraduate and postgraduate Masters degree, involving full time studies over five years.
Interests
My main fields of interest in archaeology are: rock art (petroglyphs), ICT in archaeology, social theories in archaeology, archaeology of the city / urban archaeology, archaeology of Middle Ages in Europe.
Besides being interested in archaeology, I have got a particular fondness for design and typography. Recently I play around with Adobe InDesign, designing leaflets and brochures.
Work Experience
I worked on different kinds of sites, some of them very exciting, which exposed the remains of a megalithic tomb, burials, houses, kilns, souterrains, fulachtaí fia, enclosures, ringforts, bridgehead, palatium and also the fortifications of the stronghold in Poznań – one of the most important archaeological Medieval sites in Central Europe. I have experience in work for number of museums, private companies and university.
Over past ten years I gained experience in:
- — maintaining documentation,
- — filing and cataloguing,
- — planning and working with maps,
- — investigating and interpreting archaeological features,
- — photography (incl. aerial photography),
- — training non-archaeological personnel,
- — developing websites.
As Museum Assistant I was responsible for:
- — updating databases and catalogues of artefacts and exhibitions
- — preparation of exhibitions,
- — preservation of artefacts,
- — assisting in the library,
- — tour guiding.
Since November 2009 I work in Harpenden for Churchill Contract Services as a Temporary Administrator. I'm responsible for filing and cataloguing, preparation of site files, log books, badges etc.
From September to October 2009 I worked for Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd as Temporary Polish Speaking Data Clerk, working on the Exhibition for Sheet Metal Working. I was responsible for caring on contact with Polish visitors and translations.
Work as Temporary Clerical Officer for The Revenue (July 2007 — August 2008) improved my administrative and organization skills.
As a member of Archaeological Student Association at Adam Mickiewicz University, I actively participated in the organization of annual international conferences, where I was:
- — leading workshops,
- — managing publications of conference papers,
- — carrying on contact with foreign guests,
- — developing conferences' websites.
